3D Face Model
3D face models are digital representations of human faces used for various applications, ranging from medical diagnosis to virtual reality. Current research focuses on improving the accuracy, efficiency, and controllability of these models, employing techniques like deep learning (including GANs and diffusion models), geometric morphometrics, and implicit neural representations (e.g., NeRFs). These advancements enable more realistic facial animation, precise biometric analysis from diverse data sources (including shadows and single images), and improved applications in fields such as healthcare (diagnosing facial dysmorphologies), entertainment (creating realistic avatars), and security (enhancing facial recognition). The development of large, high-quality datasets, such as the Florence 4D dataset, is also crucial for advancing the field.
