Abdominal Lymph Node

Abdominal lymph node detection and segmentation are crucial for staging various diseases, particularly cancers, requiring accurate identification of these small, often indistinct structures within complex anatomical environments. Current research focuses on improving automated detection and segmentation using deep learning models, such as variations of Faster R-CNN, VFNet, and diffusion probabilistic models (DDPMs), often incorporating synthetic data generation to address limitations in annotated datasets. These advancements hold significant promise for improving diagnostic accuracy and treatment planning in oncology and other medical fields by enabling more efficient and reliable lymph node analysis from medical images like CT scans and MRI.
