Acoustic Echo
Acoustic echo, the reflection of sound waves, is studied to improve sound processing in various applications, primarily focusing on removing unwanted echoes to enhance speech clarity and enable accurate environmental perception. Current research emphasizes developing robust algorithms and deep learning models, such as those incorporating attention mechanisms and hybrid approaches combining deep learning with traditional signal processing, for tasks like acoustic echo cancellation and room geometry inference from echo data. These advancements have significant implications for improving the quality of audio communication, enabling more accurate 3D environment mapping for robotics and autonomous systems, and enhancing medical imaging techniques.
