Acoustic Scene
Acoustic scene analysis focuses on automatically identifying and classifying the environment from its soundscape, aiming to understand both the overall scene and the individual sound events within it. Current research emphasizes developing robust and efficient models, often employing deep convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and transformer architectures, with a growing focus on energy efficiency and handling diverse, incomplete, or noisy datasets. This field is crucial for applications ranging from assistive hearing devices and environmental monitoring to machine condition monitoring and virtual/augmented reality, driving advancements in both audio signal processing and machine learning.
