Aerial Underwater Vehicle

Hybrid Aerial Underwater Vehicles (HAUVs) are robotic systems capable of seamlessly transitioning between air and water, enabling diverse applications like pipeline inspection and underwater environmental monitoring. Current research emphasizes developing robust control algorithms, particularly deep reinforcement learning (e.g., actor-critic methods) and advanced path planning algorithms (e.g., RRT variants), to enable autonomous navigation and efficient task completion in complex, often mapless, environments. These advancements are improving the efficiency and capabilities of HAUVs for various tasks, including aquaculture monitoring and search and rescue operations, while also contributing to the broader fields of robotics and control systems.
