Affective Response
Affective response research focuses on understanding and modeling how humans experience and express emotions, particularly in response to various stimuli like text, audio, video, and even urban soundscapes. Current research employs diverse approaches, including transformer-based models, multimodal large language models, and reinforcement learning, to analyze emotional trajectories in narratives, predict emotional states from various modalities (visual, auditory, physiological), and even generate affective descriptions. This field is significant for advancing human-computer interaction, improving mental health applications, and enhancing the design of emotionally intelligent systems across various domains.
