Agreement Technology
Agreement technology encompasses methods for achieving consensus among distributed systems, whether these are neural networks predicting out-of-distribution performance or software agents coordinating in smart cities. Current research focuses on leveraging ensemble methods and analyzing agreement patterns (like "agreement-on-the-line") to improve prediction accuracy and robustness in AI models, as well as developing frameworks for managing negotiations and agreements in complex, multi-agent environments. This field is significant for advancing both AI safety and the design of effective, trustworthy systems for managing increasingly interconnected societal challenges.
