AI Assisted Programming
AI-assisted programming leverages large language models (LLMs), often based on transformer architectures, to enhance software development productivity. Current research focuses on improving the quality and usability of AI-generated code suggestions, including extending capabilities beyond single-line completions to multi-line code blocks and addressing challenges like suggestion latency and integration within various development environments (e.g., Xcode). These advancements demonstrate significant potential for improving developer efficiency, particularly in tasks like code generation, debugging, and onboarding, as evidenced by successful deployments in large-scale industrial settings.
