Airport Runway Segmentation
Airport runway segmentation aims to automatically identify and delineate runways in images, crucial for improving aviation safety and efficiency in tasks such as autonomous landing and air traffic management. Current research emphasizes robust methods using deep learning architectures like convolutional neural networks and generative adversarial networks, often incorporating techniques to enhance model reliability and address adversarial attacks or challenging weather conditions. This work is significant for advancing autonomous systems in aviation, improving safety through formal verification of object detection models, and enabling more efficient airport operations.
