Animal Ethic
Animal ethics research increasingly leverages artificial intelligence, particularly computer vision techniques like pose estimation and deep learning models, to analyze animal behavior and assess welfare. Current efforts focus on automating the detection of pain and affective states through analysis of both facial expressions and body posture in various species, aiming for improved animal management and welfare assessment. This work holds significant implications for improving animal husbandry practices across industries, as well as informing the development of more ethically sound AI systems that consider animal well-being.
