Animatable Human Avatar

Animatable human avatars are realistic 3D digital representations of humans that can be realistically posed and animated. Current research focuses on creating high-fidelity avatars from limited input data, such as monocular videos or even just text descriptions, using techniques like neural radiance fields, Gaussian splatting, and generative adversarial networks (GANs). These advancements are improving the efficiency and realism of avatar creation, with implications for applications ranging from virtual and augmented reality to film and gaming. The field is actively exploring methods to improve rendering speed, disentangle geometry and appearance for easier editing, and enhance the realism of clothing and facial details.
