Aortic Aneurysm
Aortic aneurysms, life-threatening bulges in the aorta, are a focus of intense research aiming to improve diagnosis and risk prediction. Current efforts leverage advanced imaging techniques like CT scans and echocardiography, coupled with artificial intelligence (AI) models—including deep learning architectures like U-Nets, Graph Neural Networks, and prototypical networks—to automate segmentation, classify aneurysm types (e.g., thoracic, abdominal, aortic dissection), and predict rupture risk. These advancements offer the potential for faster, more accurate diagnoses, personalized risk assessments, and improved patient management, ultimately reducing mortality associated with this often asymptomatic condition.
