Aortic Stenosis
Aortic stenosis (AS), a narrowing of the aortic valve, is a prevalent heart condition requiring accurate and timely diagnosis for effective treatment. Current research focuses on developing AI-powered tools, employing deep learning architectures like convolutional neural networks and prototypical networks, to analyze echocardiography images and other data (e.g., seismocardiography, CT scans) for automated AS detection and severity classification. These advancements aim to improve diagnostic accuracy, personalize treatment planning through detailed hemodynamic modeling, and ultimately reduce the burden of this significant cardiovascular disease. The development of robust and interpretable AI models holds the potential to significantly enhance clinical workflows and patient outcomes.
