Arabic Question Answering

Arabic Question Answering (QA) research focuses on developing systems that can accurately answer questions posed in Arabic, a task complicated by the language's morphological richness and the limited availability of large, high-quality datasets. Current research emphasizes the adaptation and evaluation of pre-trained transformer models, like AraBERT, for Arabic QA tasks, alongside efforts to create comprehensive datasets like ArabicaQA to benchmark model performance and facilitate further research. These advancements are crucial for improving Arabic NLP capabilities and enabling applications such as educational technology, information retrieval, and automated question generation for Arabic language learning.
