Argumentation Framework

Argumentation frameworks are formal models used to represent and analyze arguments, aiming to determine which arguments are justified or accepted given their interrelationships. Current research emphasizes developing more expressive frameworks, incorporating elements like temporal ordering, preferences, and quantitative measures of argument strength, often using logic programming, answer set programming, and constraint satisfaction techniques to compute solutions and generate explanations. This work has significant implications for explainable AI, legal reasoning, and decision-making systems by providing tools for modeling, evaluating, and explaining complex reasoning processes in various domains.
