Current efforts focus on benchmarking LMM performance in interpreting scientific figures, detecting the influence of AI writing tools like ChatGPT on publication style, and analyzing publication trends to identify influential papers and research areas, particularly within AI subfields. This work is significant for improving scientific communication, understanding the evolving landscape of research, and potentially enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of scientific discovery.
