AUV Survey

AUV surveys utilize autonomous underwater vehicles to collect data from the ocean floor, primarily focusing on seabed mapping and benthic habitat characterization. Current research emphasizes improving navigation robustness, particularly addressing challenges like limited Doppler velocity log data through hybrid neural network approaches and advanced filtering techniques, and enhancing image analysis via deep learning models for improved benthic classification. These advancements are crucial for expanding our understanding of marine environments, supporting more efficient and reliable underwater exploration, and enabling more accurate monitoring of marine ecosystems.
