Current research utilizes deep learning, particularly computer vision techniques and supervised contrastive learning, to build robust models capable of recognizing diverse banknotes across various conditions and currencies. These efforts are creating open-source datasets and models for universal currency recognition, improving accessibility for visually impaired people and offering novel solutions for currency management and recycling.
