Based Navigation
Based navigation focuses on enabling autonomous systems to navigate using sensor data, primarily visual information, and often integrated with other sensors like GPS and inertial measurement units. Current research emphasizes robust and accurate localization in challenging environments (e.g., urban canyons, uneven terrain) using techniques like deep learning (including convolutional and recurrent neural networks), graph-based methods, and sensor fusion algorithms (e.g., GNSS/INS/Vision). These advancements are crucial for improving the reliability and safety of autonomous vehicles, robots in various applications (including surgery and maritime operations), and assistive technologies for the visually impaired.
