Bengali Meme

Research on Bengali memes focuses on analyzing their sentiment, identifying hateful content, and detecting the targets of such hate, addressing a significant gap in low-resource language processing. Current studies employ multimodal deep learning models, often combining convolutional neural networks for image analysis with recurrent neural networks or transformer-based architectures like BERT for text processing, to achieve improved accuracy in tasks like hate speech and sarcasm detection. This work is crucial for mitigating online abuse and fostering safer online environments in Bengali-speaking communities, while also advancing the field of natural language processing for low-resource languages.
