Berry Picking
Berry picking is undergoing a technological transformation, driven by the need for efficient and automated harvesting to address labor shortages in agriculture. Current research focuses on developing computer vision systems, employing deep learning architectures like YOLOv8 and the Segment Anything Model (SAM), to accurately identify and locate berries in diverse field conditions, including challenging lighting and occlusions. These advancements, along with the development of specialized robotic grippers and harvesting tools, aim to improve yield, reduce damage, and optimize resource management in berry production.
