Bharti Braille
Bharti Braille is a standardized Braille script for Indian languages, aiming to improve literacy among visually impaired individuals. Current research focuses on optimizing Braille reading speed and comprehension, particularly investigating the relationship between reading speed, error rates, and comprehension levels, and employing machine learning models, including LSTMs, to improve the accuracy of text translation into Bharti Braille from various Indian languages. These efforts are crucial for enhancing accessibility to educational materials and information for visually impaired populations in India, with ongoing work addressing challenges like translating multi-word expressions accurately.
