Bio Inspired Neural Network
Bio-inspired neural networks aim to replicate the structure and function of biological neural systems, offering potential advantages over traditional artificial neural networks. Current research focuses on spiking neural networks (SNNs), often paired with dynamic vision sensors, for applications like real-time path planning in robotics and improved perception in autonomous vehicles, as well as on hybrid ANN-SNN architectures to leverage the strengths of both approaches. These biologically-plausible models show promise in enhancing efficiency, robustness, and explainability in various fields, from industrial fault diagnosis to human movement modeling.
