BioASQ Challenge
The BioASQ challenge is a series of international competitions focused on advancing large-scale biomedical semantic indexing and question answering, pushing the boundaries of natural language processing in the biomedical domain. Current research emphasizes improving the accuracy and efficiency of biomedical entity linking, often employing techniques like multiple-choice question answering frameworks and leveraging large language models (LLMs) with prompt engineering and retrieval-augmented generation. These advancements are significant because they improve access to and understanding of complex biomedical information, impacting areas like literature searching, clinical decision support, and the development of more effective biomedical knowledge bases.
