Biogenic Volatile Organic Compound

Biogenic volatile organic compounds (BVOCs) are crucial for understanding atmospheric chemistry and climate, but their spatial distribution is often poorly resolved due to limited observational data. Current research focuses on improving the resolution of BVOC emission maps using super-resolution (SR) techniques, primarily employing deep learning models adapted to handle the unique challenges of sparse and noisy BVOC data, including leveraging inter-compound relationships and domain adaptation strategies. These advancements are significant because higher-resolution BVOC maps enhance the accuracy of atmospheric models and improve predictions related to air quality, climate change, and biosphere-atmosphere interactions.
