Biological Age

Biological age, distinct from chronological age, aims to quantify an individual's physiological state using various biomarkers. Current research focuses on developing and refining predictive models, employing machine learning techniques like deep neural networks, LASSO regression, and Gaussian processes, to estimate biological age from diverse data sources such as blood metabolites, brain imaging (MRI and EEG), and facial images. These models show promise in predicting mortality risk and identifying individuals at higher risk of age-related diseases, potentially enabling earlier interventions and personalized healthcare strategies.
