Bird Specie Classification

Bird species classification research aims to automate the identification of bird species from various data sources, primarily visual images and audio recordings, improving efficiency and scalability in ecological monitoring and biodiversity studies. Current research heavily utilizes deep learning, employing convolutional neural networks (CNNs), recurrent neural networks (RNNs, particularly LSTMs), transformers, and autoencoders, often enhanced by incorporating habitat information or metadata to improve accuracy. These advancements enable more efficient biodiversity monitoring, facilitating conservation efforts and providing valuable insights into avian populations and their distribution.
