Bokeh Effect
Bokeh, the aesthetically pleasing blurring of out-of-focus areas in photographs, is a subject of intense research focusing on generating realistic bokeh effects computationally, particularly for mobile devices lacking the hardware capabilities of professional cameras. Current approaches leverage deep learning models, including generative adversarial networks (GANs), diffusion models, and vision transformers, often incorporating depth estimation and lens metadata to achieve more accurate and controllable blurring. This research aims to improve the realism and efficiency of bokeh rendering, impacting fields like mobile photography, image editing software, and even potentially influencing the design of future camera hardware.
