Bone Lesion
Bone lesions, abnormal areas within bone tissue, are a significant focus of medical imaging research due to their importance in diagnosing various conditions, including osteoarthritis, cancer metastasis, and dental diseases. Current research emphasizes automated detection and segmentation of these lesions using advanced deep learning techniques, such as 3D convolutional neural networks (like nnUNet), transformer-based architectures (like Swin Transformer), and variational autoencoders, often incorporating semi-supervised or weakly-supervised learning strategies to address data limitations. Improved accuracy in lesion detection and characterization through these methods promises to enhance diagnostic capabilities, enabling earlier and more precise interventions in clinical practice.
