Boolean Query
Boolean queries, fundamental to information retrieval, aim to efficiently and effectively retrieve relevant data from large datasets by combining keywords using logical operators. Current research focuses on improving the efficiency of Boolean query processing, particularly in high-dimensional spaces, through advanced optimization algorithms like variance-reduced proximal gradient methods and exploring alternative query generation methods using large language models (LLMs) to enhance precision and reduce the time-consuming manual construction of effective queries. This work has significant implications for various fields, including systematic reviews in medicine where improved query design can lead to more reliable and efficient research outcomes.
