Brick Kiln

Brick kilns are a significant source of air pollution, particularly in densely populated regions of South Asia, posing substantial threats to public health and the environment. Current research focuses on developing scalable and accurate methods for detecting and monitoring brick kilns using satellite imagery, employing machine learning models like YOLO (You Only Look Once) variants to identify kilns and assess their compliance with environmental regulations. These advancements offer governments a powerful tool for enforcing policies, improving air quality, and mitigating the considerable health and climate impacts associated with this industry.
