Building Trust
Building trust in human-robot interaction and AI systems is a critical area of research focusing on understanding how trust develops, is maintained, and is repaired after violations. Current research explores various factors influencing trust, including robot behavior (e.g., movement synchronization, error responses), communication styles (e.g., vocal tone), and system transparency (e.g., explainability, verifiable algorithms). This work is significant because establishing trust is essential for effective human-AI collaboration across diverse applications, from healthcare and emergency response to e-commerce and autonomous vehicles, ultimately impacting the safe and successful integration of these technologies into society.
