Burst Image
Burst image processing leverages multiple, rapidly-captured images to overcome limitations of single-shot photography, aiming to improve image quality and enable novel effects. Current research focuses on developing advanced algorithms, including transformer networks and diffusion models, to address challenges like image alignment, noise reduction, and super-resolution within burst sequences. These advancements are significantly impacting mobile photography, enabling features like computational long exposure, improved low-light performance, and enhanced depth-of-field effects, while also contributing to broader computer vision tasks such as 3D reconstruction.
