Camera LiDAR
Camera-LiDAR fusion aims to combine the rich color information from cameras with the precise depth measurements of LiDARs for enhanced 3D perception, primarily in autonomous driving. Current research focuses on improving data fusion techniques, addressing challenges like misalignment artifacts and sparse LiDAR data through novel algorithms such as transformer-based architectures and optimization methods for global camera pose estimation. These advancements lead to more robust and accurate 3D object detection and scene reconstruction, impacting applications ranging from autonomous navigation to robotics and 3D mapping.
