Cancer Genome Atlas

The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) is a large-scale, publicly available database of genomic and clinical data from various cancer types, primarily used to understand cancer heterogeneity and improve diagnosis and prognosis. Current research focuses on integrating TCGA data with other modalities, such as histopathology images, using deep learning architectures like transformers and convolutional neural networks, often within multi-instance learning frameworks to address the challenges of whole slide image analysis. This integrated approach aims to improve the accuracy of cancer subtype classification, survival prediction, and biomarker identification, ultimately leading to more personalized and effective cancer treatments.
