Cancer Metastasis
Cancer metastasis, the spread of cancer to distant sites, is a leading cause of cancer-related deaths, driving research focused on improving early detection and prognosis. Current research employs machine learning, particularly deep learning models like convolutional neural networks and multiple instance learning, coupled with image analysis techniques (e.g., radiomics, image registration) to analyze medical images (CT, MRI, WSIs) and identify metastatic lesions, improving both accuracy and efficiency compared to manual methods. These advancements hold significant promise for personalized treatment strategies and improved patient outcomes by enabling earlier intervention and more accurate risk stratification.
