Central Venous Catheter
Central venous catheters (CVCs) are essential medical devices, but their safe and effective use requires precise placement and monitoring. Current research focuses on improving CVC procedures through automated image analysis, leveraging deep learning models (including convolutional neural networks and transformers) to analyze X-ray, ultrasound, and waveform data for accurate catheter localization, segmentation, and even thrombus detection. These advancements aim to enhance procedural safety, reduce complications, and improve training for medical professionals by automating tasks and providing real-time feedback during procedures.
