Citation Pattern
Citation patterns in scientific literature are being intensely studied to understand how knowledge is disseminated and to improve the accuracy and efficiency of scholarly communication. Current research focuses on developing algorithms, including attention-based BiLSTMs and various neural network architectures, to automatically assess citation quality, predict citation counts, and recommend relevant citations, often incorporating semantic, topic, and citation network information. These efforts aim to address issues like citation bias, the declining citation of older work ("citation amnesia"), and the need for more robust and verifiable information in scientific publications, ultimately improving the reliability and impact of research.
