Claim Extraction
Claim extraction focuses on automatically identifying and extracting factual assertions (claims) from text, a crucial step in tasks like fact-checking and evaluating the factuality of generated text. Current research emphasizes improving the robustness and accuracy of claim extraction, particularly addressing challenges like identifying informative sub-claims and handling document-level claims across diverse languages and domains, often employing transformer-based language models and incorporating techniques like natural language inference. These advancements are significant for improving the reliability of information systems and aiding human fact-checkers in managing the increasing volume of online information.
