Clothed avatar research focuses on creating realistic digital representations of humans wearing clothes, aiming for accurate geometry, appearance, and dynamic behavior. Current efforts concentrate on developing methods that combine physics-based simulation with data-driven deep learning approaches, often employing neural networks (e.g., transformers, diffusion models) and implicit/explicit 3D representations (e.g., SMPL, SDFs) to handle the complex interactions between clothing and body movement.
