Co Evolutionary Algorithm
Co-evolutionary algorithms (CoEAs) are computational methods that simultaneously evolve two or more populations, often in competition or cooperation, to solve complex optimization problems. Current research focuses on analyzing the efficiency and reliability of different CoEA architectures, such as competitive and cooperative models, with a particular emphasis on understanding and mitigating problematic behaviors like stagnation. These algorithms show promise in diverse applications, including engineering design (e.g., optimal placement of vibration dampers), autonomous system safety analysis, and solving challenging combinatorial problems, offering a powerful alternative to traditional optimization techniques.
