Cognitive Load
Cognitive load, the mental effort required to process information, is a key area of research aiming to understand and optimize human performance in various contexts. Current research focuses on accurately measuring cognitive load using multimodal data (EEG, eye-tracking, physiological signals) and developing predictive models, often employing deep learning architectures like CNNs and RNNs, or Bayesian methods for analyzing functional brain connectivity. These advancements have significant implications for improving human-computer interaction, particularly in areas like virtual reality, autonomous driving, and educational technology, by enabling the design of systems that minimize cognitive overload and enhance user experience.
