Cognitive Strategy
Cognitive strategy research investigates how humans and intelligent systems efficiently allocate limited cognitive resources to solve complex tasks, focusing on mechanisms like metacognitive learning and the interplay between cognitive and control processes. Current research employs diverse approaches, including large language models for analyzing conversational dynamics and developing synthetic personae, as well as computational models of metacognitive reinforcement learning to understand human planning abilities. These advancements offer insights into human cognition, informing the design of more effective human-robot teams and more reliable AI systems, ultimately bridging the gap between human and artificial intelligence.
