Collaborative Intelligence
Collaborative intelligence (CI) focuses on designing systems where multiple agents, including humans and AI models (often large language models), work together to solve complex problems exceeding the capabilities of any single agent. Current research emphasizes frameworks that facilitate effective communication and coordination between heterogeneous agents, employing techniques like multi-agent reinforcement learning, federated learning, and novel communication protocols inspired by internet architectures. CI's significance lies in its potential to accelerate progress in diverse fields, such as drug discovery, communication networks, and robotics, by leveraging the complementary strengths of different agents and efficiently utilizing distributed resources.
