Colloquial Persian
Colloquial Persian, a significant variant of the language used in informal settings, is a growing focus of natural language processing (NLP) research. Current efforts concentrate on developing robust NLP models, often based on transformer architectures like BERT, that can accurately process and understand the unique linguistic features of this informal register, including slang and variations in grammar and orthography. This research is crucial for improving the accuracy of various NLP applications, such as sentiment analysis, topic detection, and machine translation, in real-world scenarios where colloquial language predominates. The creation of large, annotated corpora of colloquial Persian is also a key area of development, enabling the training and evaluation of more effective models.
