Current research focuses on developing automated methods for color transfer, often employing deep learning architectures like neural ISP networks operating in the Fourier domain to decouple color and structural adjustments for improved realism. These advancements aim to overcome limitations of traditional palette-based methods and address challenges like spectral sensitivity estimation in consumer cameras, ultimately leading to more accurate and natural-looking color transformations in various applications.
