Comic analysis is a burgeoning field applying computer vision and natural language processing to understand the multifaceted nature of comics, aiming to automate tasks like caption generation, character identification, and narrative comprehension. Current research focuses on developing and benchmarking multimodal models, often leveraging vision transformers and large language models, to address challenges posed by diverse artistic styles and complex narrative structures.
