Community Battery
Community batteries are shared energy storage systems designed to improve the integration of renewable energy sources, like solar power, into local grids. Research focuses on optimizing their operation using advanced algorithms, such as reinforcement learning (including variations like soft actor-critic) and multi-objective genetic algorithms, to manage charging and discharging based on fluctuating energy prices, renewable generation, and local demand. These systems aim to enhance grid reliability, reduce peak demand, and improve the utilization of distributed energy resources, thereby contributing to a more efficient and sustainable energy infrastructure.
