Complex Legal
Complex legal text processing is a burgeoning field leveraging advancements in natural language processing (NLP) to address challenges in legal information retrieval, analysis, and education. Current research focuses on adapting large language models (LLMs), including transformer-based architectures like BERT and Longformer, to handle the length and complexity of legal documents, often employing hierarchical frameworks or modifications to increase input capacity. This work aims to improve tasks such as legal judgment prediction, knowledge update in dynamic legal environments, and accessibility of legal information to non-experts, with implications for legal professionals, educators, and the broader public.
