Context Misinformation
Context misinformation, the deliberate or accidental misrepresentation of information through its removal from its original context, is a growing concern amplified by the ease of content creation and dissemination online. Current research focuses on developing automated detection methods using large language models (LLMs) and large vision-language models (LVLMs), often incorporating knowledge graphs and logic-based regularization techniques to improve accuracy and interpretability. These efforts aim to mitigate the harmful effects of misinformation on public health, trust in information sources, and democratic processes, with applications ranging from social media monitoring to fact-checking tools. The development of robust and explainable detection systems is crucial for combating the spread of context misinformation.
